av2How fitting that the underlying theme of this episode of Durarara sort of reflects my current situation.

Simon may look like a simple harmless guy but he seems to have a certain wisdom in him. The sort of wisdom that only a person of his experience would ever know.

It’s interesting how Anime like this can touch and inspire the little things in me. I’m in Hong Kong right now actually. It’s a new city (though I’ve been here twice in the past), with new opportunities and stuff that makes me want to get away from it all. Aside from being alone and swamped with work (I’m on a business trip with my boss), I guess Anime / Manga is the only thing I can fall back to.

Spoiler Warning: Yada yada yada…

Sora No Woto – 3: How sweet the sound

snw3This episode really answered a lot of questions. It seems my speculations in my past posts were off, but thanks to this episode I finally understand what Sora No Woto is about.

This episode also revealed another side to Rio. A side of her which I find really sweet and at the same time admirable.

There’s also something about this episode that made me feel so at ease and so satisfying. I can surely say this is one of the few Anime series that has touched my heart, considering that it’s still early in the series.

Spoiler Warning: You know the drill.

The narrow gap

shureiavI’ve been noticing a trend build up in Anime / Manga since 2008 and I’ve always wondered why there was a strange division of genres and sort of “alienation” between fans. I guess what I’m trying to say, the love for the Anime / Manga has grown complicated that these have somehow made fans either biased of each other or just plainly ignorant.

Now the following is merely my observations on people and trends. I surely do know that many of you may have different opinions and observations, so let’s just say I’m just adding up to the pile of facts that many don’t seem to quite get a grasp at.

Hit the jump to view my not so theoretical senseless thinking about this topic.

Among all the Samurai flicks I’ve seen, Samurai Champloo has got to be the most interesting and most memorable. My brother recently bought the complete Blu-ray collection and I’ve been watching it with him throughout the weekend. When this Anime first came out way back in 2004-2005, I didn’t notice it so much because I thought it was senseless slashing and killing. Watching it now, it made me realize that this is indeed a masterpiece done by Sinchiro Watanabe-sensei.

Aside from the fact that Jin is so hawt (megane = sexy and hawt), Mugen’s antics always put a smile into my face. No matter how you look at it these three look like a real family. Big brother Jin, dumb brother Mugen and kawaii little sister Fuu. It was sad to see them part ways in the end but nevertheless as the ending credits on the last episode went by, you can see them all walking alone different paths with the hope that they would meet again someday. And they probably did.

Sora no Woto – 02: “Good morning! You suck!”

snw2av I’m really liking this series. I’d have to say that this is one of the few series that is sort of realistic. The facial expressions of the characters are really superb, which is one of the few things that made me notice it.

I guess this would have turned the heads of those speculating that this would just be another senseless “moe-fest”. This Anime contains a lot of heart and from what I’m seeing, is diverting from the usual, sad-happy to happy-sad plot. It’s just carefree!

Hit the jump for some points that I’ve noticed in this episode.
