Aoi - Dancouga Nova

Been away for a while but for a good reason. Been busy with a new job. It’s not as tedious as what I’ve had when I was at Singapore but it’s better and I can manage my time more easily. Anyway, I found a new Anime to stress over about. It’s not exactly new but it’s the first time for me to see it.

As you guys know my brother is a huge Anime/Mange fanatic and while he was playing his new game on the PSP, Super Robot Wars Z2, I saw this action scene of a girl who apparently is a leader of a group of pilots riding Dancouga Nova. I’ve known Dancouga for a while since my brother has the old DVDs of it, but I was surprised to know there was sort of a remake of Dancouga, which is Dancouga Nova. This girl on the picture, Aoi (kinda wierd since Aoi means blue, but she’s pink haired and all @_@) kinda struck me and now I’m looking for DVDs of this Anime.

Ah well. I need to go back to work then. Sigh… need to get back to playing Pangya as well. I heard Season 5 is finally out!

Been a while since I’ve done a review for an Anime lol. Blame Final Fantasy 13 lol. Anyway, my brother managed to get a hold of this Anime that I found interesting back then. We actually had a PS3 theme of Xam’d that we downloaded of the Playstation Network and I saw a few video previews of this Anime. A collaboration of Aniplex, Bones and Sony Computer Entertainment (Japan Studio). This feels like a “thinking man’s” Anime is what I would call it. Love the artwork and the story is excellent. The seiyuus are also all familiar to me. I didn’t know why this Anime didn’t catch any attention back then. Was it because of its limited release on the Playstation Network?

I think I’ve rested a bit enough. Trying to get myself back into a “work again” state of mind. I did request light jobs the past week so I can chill out a bit after that one hell of a working month at Hong Kong. (Which I am trying very hard to forget.

Anyway, I’ve been playing Final Fantasy 13 on the PS3. I’ve got like 10 hours of play so far and its really addictive. The last time I got hooked on a FF title was when FF8 was released. I think the long wait and delays were justified for this game since everything was made without sparing a single detail. I’ve gotten 2 Ediolons (Summons) so far, namely Odin and Shiva. I also like the way they balanced the game by forcing you to use every character as the leader of the party.

As for my Anime, I’ve finally finished most the backlog episodes that I’ve missed the past month. I plan to continue watching until I get to the latest and I can post some of my insights and reviews again. That is if Final Fantasy 13 doesn’t grab my attention away from it. Lol.

Durarara – 3: Change or not?

av2How fitting that the underlying theme of this episode of Durarara sort of reflects my current situation.

Simon may look like a simple harmless guy but he seems to have a certain wisdom in him. The sort of wisdom that only a person of his experience would ever know.

It’s interesting how Anime like this can touch and inspire the little things in me. I’m in Hong Kong right now actually. It’s a new city (though I’ve been here twice in the past), with new opportunities and stuff that makes me want to get away from it all. Aside from being alone and swamped with work (I’m on a business trip with my boss), I guess Anime / Manga is the only thing I can fall back to.

Spoiler Warning: Yada yada yada…

snw3This episode really answered a lot of questions. It seems my speculations in my past posts were off, but thanks to this episode I finally understand what Sora No Woto is about.

This episode also revealed another side to Rio. A side of her which I find really sweet and at the same time admirable.

There’s also something about this episode that made me feel so at ease and so satisfying. I can surely say this is one of the few Anime series that has touched my heart, considering that it’s still early in the series.

Spoiler Warning: You know the drill.
